Some Tea Bags Contain Plastic

Some tea bags contain plastic or polypropylene, a sealing plastic, to keep their tea bags from falling apart. This plastic is not recyclable or biodegradable. And should not be used for composting.


The tea brands below contain plastic in their tea bags. These tea bags may feel slippery to the touch and have a heat-sealed edge. If you have tea bags from the list below and believe they may contain plastic. Slit open the bag and toss in the trash and use just the tea for composting.
